Qiang Zhang, Visiting PhD Student

Qiang Zhang is a Ph.D. candidate at Central South University, China, and a CSC visiting Ph.D. student at Politecnico di Torino, Italy, where he joined the MUL2 research group in November 2024 under the supervision of Prof. Alfonso Pagani. His research interests lie in the fatigue behavior of engineering structural components in the aerospace and railway industries, with particular emphasis on computational fatigue modeling. His current research focuses on the development and application of fatigue algorithms based on the coupling of the Carrera Unified Formulation (CUF) and peridynamics (PD), aiming to provide efficient numerical tools for fatigue crack initiation and propagation analysis.
