Paola Pia Foligno, Postdoc

Paola Pia Foligno obtained her BSc in Aerospace Engineering in September 2019 and her MSc in Space Engineering in April 2022, both from Politecnico di Milano. In November 2022, she began her PhD in Aerospace Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, where she received her doctoral degree in February 2026 with a thesis entitled “Novel p-virtual element method for the nonlinear analysis of curvilinearly stiffened panels”. Her research focused on innovative numerical methods for the study of curvilinearly stiffened variable-angle-tow (VAT) panels in the postbuckling regime.
Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher at Politecnico di Torino, where she works on shell models for composite structures subjected to mechanical and thermal loads, buckling and postbuckling analyses, and locking mitigation strategies.
