Andrea Serino, PhD Student

Andrea Serino achieved his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin in October 2023, with a thesis titled “Digital Twin Design of an Anti-Icing System for Aircraft Wings”, carried out in collaboration with Leonardo S.p.A. After working as a mechanical designer and researcher in industrial robotics at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (iit) in Genova and as a Model-Based Systems Engineer, he started a PhD program in Space Science and Technology in November 2025. Enrolled in a National PhD program with administrative headquarters at the University of Trento, his research is operatively conducted at the Polytechnic University of Turin within the MUL2 research group. His current research activities, within the “Satellite Platforms: Engineering and Technologies” curriculum, focus on the engineering of large deployable structures for space applications, such as satellite antennas and solar sails.
